Booking your journey with Greyhound is simple. Our website and app make it easy to find the best fares and purchase your tickets securely. You can either book on our website or app when booking your ticket. Or you can also add bulky baggage later via Manage My Booking. And if departing from a staffed station location, you can also book and pay there.

Our Greyhound stations and the stores inside them accept credit or debit cards. But, your bus might take a rest stop along the route where there are shops or food stalls that only accept cash. So make sure you bring some real money, and not just plastic.

Know Before You Go

Greyhound will accept one carry-on bag under 25 pounds, and one checked bag which must not exceed 63 inches when adding up the dimensions (length + width + height) and should not weigh more than 50 pounds. Up to 2 additional bags can be checked for $20 each.

No problem! With Greyhound, you can cancel your ticket up to 15 minutes before departure and get a full or partial refund in the form of a voucher. The table below shows how much you will be refunded. The amount depends on how far in advance you cancel your ticket.

At many Greyhound stations you can charge your devices for free at our charging stations. This can be a row of seats in the waiting area or a dedicated table with lots of power outlets. You can change your departure date, time, or destination. You can refund your original ticket instantly (see cancellation policy) and the value of your voucher can be used for a new booking. Trips can be changed up to 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

However, Greyhound reserves the right to check IDs, and they require all passengers to have a valid ID with them at all times. It is always a good idea to have your ID readily available throughout your journey in case it is requested by Greyhound staff or local authorities.

At Greyhound your first under the bus bag is free. Unlike many of bus companies who only allow you 1 under bus bag, we allow you to take up 3 along with you. If you pay for your 2nd and 3rd bags at the terminal, each bag will cost $20.

If by chance, you find yourself without an MTA card on you, you can still pay the Bus single-ride fare ($2.75) aboard the bus, but make sure you have coins with you, no banknotes are accepted, only exact change and no pennies!
