Police Release More Footage of Trio Connected to Alexa Stakely’s Death – WFCN news (2024)

WFCN –

Columbus police released new surveillance footage on Wednesday, identifying three suspects being sought in connection with the death of a mother and speech pathologist from central Ohio.

The victim tragically lost her life while trying to prevent the theft of her vehicle, which had her son inside. Prior to the public vigil, the footage was made public just hours earlier.

From what we can see in the video, two of the three criminals are chasing the stolen Honda belonging to Alexa Stakely. The third suspect is behind the wheel. Two of the suspects pursue the driver on foot until they reach the apartment complex’s parking area, where they leave the automobile. The three individuals in question were last saw by law enforcement moving northward along Brynwood Green Drive, according to their report.

The trio appeared to be at ease in the neighborhood, as they persisted in walking after getting out of Stakely’s Honda, according to the Columbus police. That they either reside nearby or have acquaintances who do is also suggestive.

If you or someone you know lived at The Residences at James Place or The Residences at Akita Lane in the early hours of July 11th, you are strongly encouraged by authorities investigating a homicide case to review your security footage. Anyone having video footage of this incident is encouraged to come forward and assist the authorities in solving the case.
