We are reaching out to animal organizations, humane groups, sanctuaries and animal advocates everywhere on this day, and we need your help to make a difference!
The 2012 Congressional year is well underway. PAWS is working with Animal Defenders International (ADI) to mount a mass broad-based support campaign for the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act, H. R. 3359 - the bill to protect wild animals from traveling circuses in the United States. This life-saving bill is in the Agriculture Committee of the House of Representatives. This is the committee where most animal protection laws are assigned, and all too often, die. Without your help on March 20th, H.R. 3359 may never make it out of this critical committee.

Recruit other groups. Are you a member of a professional or social organization? Get them on board to write letters and comments of support for TEAPA.
Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Representative's office. (Please do not call your Senator at this time as a companion bill in the Senate has not yet been introduced.)
Meet and write your Member of Congress in their home district office. Get your friends and family to do the same. It just takes a minute to ask your Member of Congress to support HR 3359 and protect circus animals!
Find out who sponsors the animal circus coming to your area. Set up meetings and write polite letters to the sponsor companies urging them to rescind their support of cruel animal-based circuses.
Plan a demonstration when a circus comes to your area! Download flyers from our website to hand out at your event.
Support the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act on POPVOX! The POPVOX website lists all bills currently deliberated in Congress. Cast your vote to show Congress you support HR 3359 TEAPA. The opposition is mounting an aggressive campaign and are currently leading in the vote! If you have not already voted, please do so today. Congress views this site! Click here to vote.

Traveling circuses cannot meet the complex needs of wild animals. Animals in traveling circuses endure confinement, physical and social deprivation, long, arduous journeys, brutal control methods and physical violence. Keeping elephants in chains, confining wild animals like lions and tigers in small cages, and forcing them to perform unnatural tricks for the sole purpose of human amusem*nt is increasingly difficult to justify in our advanced society.
